Who are we
We are Ajay and Suman Pant. We have been involved in cultural exchange programs in Nepal for more than a decade. Since 1999, Ajay worked for a Dutch organization as a facilitator in Nepal. Ajay was assigned in remote villages to assist international volunteers to bridge the gap of communication for effective productivity of the work. In 2004, we started coordinating international volunteers within Stichting Veldwerk the Netherlands. We learned to understand very well the differences in cultural and lingual aspects between west and Nepal. The sightseeing tours and cultural exposure programs during volunteer coordination included visiting local authentic places, ‘off the beaten paths’ hiking, adventure sports and jungle safari. It brought us to some of the most special places Nepal has to offer. 11 years, more than 400 international volunteers and countless friends and great experiences later, we decided that the type of work is something we both wanted to be full-time involved in. We set up our own travel company; Footprints Nepal Travels and Tours in 2010.
Our extensive travel to Europe, and specially staying with people at their homes, helped us get to understand different perspectives of daily life and very different cultures. This exposure gave us an insight to our client’s preferences and interests. Ajay is experienced in designing complete custom program just for you. Suman is well-informed on culture/heritage and probably the best person to have as a friend when she is guiding you and not being a ‘tape recorder’. Our combination of arranging and guiding became very successful. It’s mainly because we both have the same passion and enthusiasm that we love to show you the real Nepal.
During our journey with Footprints Nepal Travels and Tours, we met many of you who are wonderful friends now. There is nothing more we could ask for than being able to show you real Nepal and to be proud of it. It has been a wonderful journey so far and every other day, we are eager to have you here and bring you into the cultural diversity of Nepal giving you a meaningful travel experiences.
By realizing the social responsibility under simple business ethics, we have joined hands with several organisations to make small positive changes in the society. Foundation Care For All – The Netherlands and Sathiko Sath – The Netherlands are among the ones we feel we can contribute to reach direct beneficiaries in Nepal.
As an individual, we (Ajay and Suman) volunteer to share a common interest in helping others to provide education, improve health and sanitation. This common interest triggered us to get involved in Rotary Club to be part of millions in global network of business, professional and community leaders.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you who has been with us and desire happiness and prosperity for all of us together. This initiation would not have been possible without you; Rotary Club of Jawalakhel, Rotary Club Groningen-Oost, Rotary Club Münster -Saint Mauritz, Foundation Care For All-The Netherlands, Sathiko Sath-The Netherlands, CRM excellence, Go 2 Social Media, Frans Muller Benelux B.V., Café de Sleutel, s’Amuse
